OZEV

The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is a team working across government to support the transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). They are providing support for the take-up of plug in electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as funding to support chargepoint infrastructure across the UK.

The Distribution Network Operator (DNO) are the companies licensed to distribute electricity in the UK from the transmission grid to industrial, commercial and residential users.

FAQs

How long does it take to get EV chargers installed?

A simple installation will take 4-6 weeks from start to finish however where pre-design work such as load checks, approvals and legal activities are required, it can take upto 6 months.

What charging speed can I expect to obtain?

You will achieve upto 22kW / hour but this will largely depend on the electrical supply available and the in built charging capacity of the vehicle.

Will my vehicle charge with your chargers?

Yes, our chargers are suitable for all electric vehicles

How can I restrict access to my chargers?

This can be easily done through the smart charging App.

How can I get some revenue from my chargers?

All our chargers are compatible with charging platforms such as our partner Monta that provide these services

Do you have chargers that integrate with solar PV?

Yes we offer solar PV compatible chargers that will enable you to charge your vehicle with pure sunshine

How do I know if I have sufficient electrical capacity to install some EV chargers?

This will require an electrical inspection and sometimes a load monitoring survey or load check to establish the spare capacity that can be used for EV charging.

If I live in apartment building, what can I do to get EV charging?

The first consideration would be to contact the property manager and other residents to establish the charging requirements and then contact us to arrange a site visit and consultation. We offer these free of charge and include an outline proposal that covers the next steps.

Do I need to get my chargers tested and inspected regularly?

Yes, as they are electrical appliances they will need to be tested and inspected at periodic intervals. EV charging requires long periods of continuous use and thus can experience high temperatures within the cabling and charging unit itself. All of our chargers are safe to use in normal operating conditions but this does require regular routine maintenance.
